The 7 Societal Challenges (SC)

The H2020 Societal Challenges are focuses on the major concerns shared by citizens in Europe and elsewhere, addressing to solve the world's most complex problems to contribute social, environmental and economic needs.

Can apply for funding universities, research organisations, industry (including SMEs), government, civil society organisations (NGOs, trusts, foundations, etc.), some cultural institutions, museums, hospitals, international organisations (like the UN or WHO), etc.

The H2020 Societal Challenges are a real opportunity for researchers to design real impact projects contributing to Commission's policy decisions (Europe 2020 Strategy, Innovation Union, European Research Area); the Juncker Commission's ten priorities (Jobs, Growth and InvestmentDigital Single MarketEnergy Union and ClimateInternal MarketA deeper and fairer Economic and Monetary UnionA balanced and progressive trade policy to harness globalisationJustice and Fundamental RightsMigrationA stronger Global Actor, and Democratic Change) and the UN's Sustainable Development Goals of the Agenda 2030 (End poverty, Zero hunger, Good health and well-being, Quality education, Gender equality, Clean water and sanitation, Affordable and clean energy, Decent work and economic growth, Industry, innovation and infrastructure, Reduced inequalities, Sustainable cities and communities, Responsible consumption and production, Climate action, Life below water, Life on land, Peace, justice and strong institutions and Partnerships for the Goals)

People and Planet need researchers' and innovators' work, citizen participatory and policy engagement, among others socio-economic actors implementing H2020 Societal Challenges projects to deliver solutions for a better and more sustainable life for all. Because we deserve better!
